Upper Naneum (4W312)

Distance: 2.4 miles
Approx Running time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy
Season: Closed from October 15th through June 15th

The Upper Naneum trail is a short and easy trail that makes a loop off of the FS-9712 road north of the Ken Wilcox horse camp at Haney Meadows.

What this trail lacks in difficulty it makes up for with some breathtaking views.  Sandstone formations can be seen along the way and at its peak you can look down on Blewett pass and Hwy 97.  Views of Mount Rainier, Mount Stewart and the Enchantments are also available on a nice day.

The trail is suitable for full size rigs and just about any SUV.  If conditions are wet then obviously the trail will become more difficult as there are a few hill climbs along the way.

Because this trail is located within the Table Mountain Management Area it is closed to motorized use (except snowmobiles) from October15th Through June15th

Getting There: At the summit of Blewett Pass on Hwy 97, turn south on FS-9716 and proceed south for 3.5 miles to join FS-9712. Turn left onto FS-9712 and proceed east following the signs to Haney Meadows. After 4.5 miles you will come to the entrance for Ken Wilcox campground and Haney Meadows. Continue past the campground another 2.4 miles to 4W312 on the left. 4W312 will rejoin the FS-9712 approximately half a mile further to the east.
